Application Procedure

  1. Along with the completed application form, submit an autobiographical essay, legibly written or typed, one to two pages in length.
  2. Enclose $40 ( U.S. dollars ) check or money order made out to Binghamton University. Visa, American Express, Discover or MasterCard payment is also acceptable if you supply the following information on the back of the application form in the space provided:
  1. Name of cardholder
  2. Visa, American Express, Discover or MasterCard (indicate)
  3. Expiration Date
  4. Card Number
  5. Application Processing fee ( $40 U.S. )
  6. Signature of cardholder ( required )
  1. Complete the Binghamton University’s International Students Financial Statement. In order to be considered for education, you are required to certify that you will have $20,900 ( U.S. ) for you personal and educational expenses for your first year of attendance. Bank statements and / or financial affidavits must be attached to this form, and the form must be signed by your sponsor(s). if you are married and your dependant(s) plan to accompany you, you will need to certify that you will have available an additional $ 5,000 per calendar year for your spouse and $ 3,000 for each child.
  2. Submit official, original transcripts ( or certified true copies ) of all secondary coursework and college coursework. If the transcript is not in English translation must also be sent. Course descriptions of college courses are very helpful to determine evaluation of transfer credits.
  3. Official score reports are necessary for all freshman applicants. ACT, SAT or TOEFL (min. score of 213 on CBT or 550 on paper version) test scores are accepted. These test results are also necessary for a transfer students in the U.S. for less than one academic year.
