Application Procedure

1) A completed Application Form for Undergraduate Admission.

2) A personal statement. This is short essay (around 250 words). The choice of subjects are given on the Application Form.
Enclose your personal statement with your application form and other documents. Remember to put your name on it!

3) Official transcripts of secondary and post secondary school work. Documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by official translations

4) A completed Confidential Reference Form from a teacher or guidance counsellor who can assess your academic ability and maturity.

5) SAT or ACT scores (required only from students graduating from the American system). Richmond’s ACT CODE is 5244, CEEB/ATP code is 0823L.

6) The results of any English examinations such as TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge. These are recommended but not required. All students take the Richmond English Language test when they arrive. Details of Richmond's English Language Requirement.

7) Non-refundable £35 application fee.

Notes : A confirmation deposit of £250, in addition to tuition fees, is required of all new students. If a students fails to enroll, the deposit is non-refundable. If a student enrolls the fee becomes a security deposit that is refundable when the student graduates or withdraws from the University provided that student’s account is clear of any charges for damage or unpaid fees.

* Room and board fees include a £350 (non-refundable) housing deposit. If you request and are subsequently assigned a single room, a supplemental fee of between £145 and £490 (depending on room size and whether or not the room has a sink) will be charged for Spring and for Fall. A single room supplemental fee of £25 per week will be charged for the Summer School. Payment is due only at time of room assignment.

** Fees include activities, insurance, and information technology. Insurance covers personal possessions, medical expenses and tuition refund in the event of a protracted illness. The fees also include an additional fee per semester to cover costs and benefits of Richmond’s accreditation and degree validation by the British Open University Validation Services. Graduating students receive a dual US/UK validated degree.
